Otdix
About This Spot
Stepping into Otdix feels like entering a well-loved corner of Baku where rhythm and warmth gently unfold. Nestled on Hasan Salmani Street, this restaurant carries the quiet pulse of the neighborhood—a welcoming spot where local life moves at an easy, unhurried pace. The atmosphere is cozy without being fussy, inviting you to slow down and be present amid the natural hum of conversation and clinking glasses.
Otdix’s charm partly lies in its open kitchen, a stage where chefs prepare fresh, richly flavored dishes right before your eyes. This transparency invites a personal kind of dining, where the choice feels shared, and every bite seems to carry the care of a hands-on approach. The scents of sizzling lamb, freshly baked tandoori bread, and smoky kebabs wrap around diners, suggesting the deep connection this kitchen holds to Azerbaijani culinary traditions.
The space itself blends Old City familiarity with a casual spirit; it’s neither overly formal nor a bustling tourist trap. Instead, you find a place where locals come to unwind after work, encouraged by friendly smiles and a thoughtful, attentive staff who quietly champion the unspoken language of hospitality. Here, ordering may not be scripted in flawless English, but that realness adds layers to the experience.
Dining at Otdix reveals moments of discovery through simple, hearty dishes enlivened with seasonal touches—whether it’s the tart brightness of sour cherry sauce or the comforting char of the manqal salad. Portions are generous without excess, encouraging shared plates and the easy pleasure of tasting across the table.
In this gentle setting, the food isn’t just fuel but a connector: a way to experience Baku’s rich mosaic of flavors alongside the people who live here. Otdix invites you not just to eat, but to participate in a quiet ritual of place and palate, where comfort arises from authenticity and familiar faces.

Absolutely amazing place! The food is fresh and full of flavor, the service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy. Everything was perfect from start to finish. A must-visit restaurant — highly recommended!

Good place. Service was great. Food quality is fine and better than many other places around. Still not the best. Would go there again for other interesting dishes on the menu.

The friendly smile on Anar's face won it for us. Even tho he didn't speak any English he served us delightfully. The outdoor ambience, more business locals, less tourists made it more interesting. The pomegranate chicken, lamb w potatoes, lamb shank, and bread were lovely. Just walk to freshly cooked dishes and pick what you want.

Amazing! The meat is so fresh and well cooked! Their BBQ is one to never forget! I come here every time I visit Baku! Service is good but communication needs patience and translation as english is not popular here! But the waiters are helpful and kind.

Very tasty local food with fresh salad and homemade drinks (compot). You may order a small portion of each type of the food. Choosing the food is possible while seeing the food being cooked. An extraordinary approach to attracting customers and giving them the opportunity to see what they would like to eat. These three portions of main food were shared between 3 people and were more than enough. On side you may consider ordering salads, local cheese etc. The service was not actually quite impressive as the food. The waiter was not attentive due to having many other customers. So when we wanted to order something additionally, it took a lot of time to reach to our waiter. The atmosphere was good with the opportunity to sit outside and inside of the restaurant.

Would recommend this place if you want to have a delicious meal for a reasonable price (almost 2 times cheaper than some regular place at the city center). Outdoor area is very nice and cozy - exactly what we were looking for

Next to the restaurant, there’s their fast-food spot, which I visited by chance but it was totally worth it. Amazing staff, incredible food, the kebab was excellent, and the lahmacun was the best I’ve ever had.

I can say this is the best place in Baku for traditional food. The dishes here were all very fresh, hygienic, and tasted amazing. However, I think the prices could be a bit lower.
